Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, Master in Political Science, and Sociologist from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education and Researcher, Member of the Center for Studies of Policies and Practices in Education (CEPPE).
His areas of specialization are Educational Policy, Privatization and Educational Markets, and Effectiveness and Educational Change. His current line of research is in Public Policies.
In 2013 he participated as the investigator-in-charge of the FONIDE Project “Admission Policies, Compositional Evolution, and Effectiveness of Schools in light of the Recent Institutionality that Prohibits Selecting Students,” CEPPE Project and UC Public Policy Center. He is currently a co-investigator in the Multidisciplinary Research Project in Social Sciences (2013-2015) CONICYT, “Statistics for Public Policy in Education: Analysis of Observational Data and Decision Making,” in the Faculty of Mathematics, the Institute of Sociology, and the Faculty of Education at PUC.
